My role as an administrative assistant with The Life Project was very unexpected. All my previous work experience had been in customer service. However, all my ministry experience at my local church had been in administration — though I never recognized it as “admin work”. From scheduling our church’s worship team and organizing our liturgy to running our online outreach campaigns and directing our Vacation Bible School, I’ve learned to adapt to most situations that come my way and discovered that I like to see things through from start to finish.
As I mentioned, this position with TLP came out of the blue. Coincidentally, I also discovered that it was the ministry I had done online mentoring with years ago as an undergrad. As a compulsive planner and recovering control-a-holic, I was caught completely off guard. And yet, I was pleasantly surprised and continue to be grateful to the Lord for bringing me to this ministry. I am learning more each day about the compassion and heart our team has to lead people to know Jesus, and about how powerful a tool the internet can be to share the truth about him.
I majored in French Language/Linguistics and Linguistics with a focus on semantics and syntax. Although this has no direct correlation with my role and I may not be able to see the bigger picture, I firmly believe that God is using my educational background, my experience, and my small actions to equip this team to reach the world.
I am so excited to see how the Lord will continue to use digital ministry to draw people from every corner of the world to himself. This is a big ambition but I know that our God is able to do so by the power of the Holy Spirit!
